Where is Encore Billiards located?

We are located at 1581 Boston Post Road in Milford, Connecticut.

Is Encore Billiards a pool hall or a retail store?

We are primarily a retail game room store and showroom. We specialize in selling and servicing game room equipment (pool tables, cues, arcade machines) for your home. While we are not a traditional pool hall for hourly play, we have display tables available for testing equipment.

Do you offer pool table moving services in Connecticut?

Yes, we provide professional pool table moving services throughout Connecticut and surrounding areas. We specialize in safely disassembling, transporting, and reassembling slate pool tables to ensure they remain level and damage-free.

Can I move a slate pool table myself without taking it apart?

No. We strongly advise against moving a slate pool table in one piece. Doing so can crack the slate, pop the seams, warp the frame, or break the legs. Proper moving requires disassembling the rails, felt, and slate, transporting them in a crate or padded van, and re-leveling the table at the new location.

My pool table isn’t level anymore. Can you fix it?

Yes, we offer pool table leveling services. If your balls are rolling to one side or the table wobbles, we can adjust the legs and re-shim the slate to ensure a perfectly flat playing surface.

How do I know if my pool table needs refelting?

You likely need pool table refelting if you notice tears in the cloth, significant "ball burns" (white marks), loose fabric near the pockets, or if the ball roll has become slow or unpredictable. We offer professional refelting services with various color options to match your room.

My pool balls don’t bounce off the rails like they used to. What is wrong?

This usually means you have "dead rails," caused by the rubber bumpers drying out or rotting over time. We can perform a complete rail cushion replacement to restore the proper bounce and speed to your table.

Do you repair pool cues and replace tips?

Yes, we offer cue repair services, including cue tip replacement, ferrule repair, and shaft conditioning. Whether you have a mushroomed tip or need a new ferrule, our shop can restore your cue to playing condition.

How much room do I need for a pool table?

To play comfortably using a standard 57”-58" cue, you generally need:

  • 7-Foot Table: Minimum room size of 13' x 16'
  • 8-Foot Table: Minimum room size of 13' 6" x 17'
  • 9-Foot Table: Minimum room size of 14' x 18'

Note: If your room is slightly smaller, we sell shorter "troubleshooter" cues for tight shots.

Do you sell used or pre-owned pool tables?

Yes, we frequently carry inventory of high-quality used pool tables. Our pre-owned selection often includes reputable brands like Brunswick, Olhausen, and Valley. Inventory changes weekly, so we recommend visiting our Milford showroom or calling us to check current availability.

Where can I buy pinball machines and retro arcade games in CT?

Encore Billiards & Game Room specializes in retro gaming. We sell authentic pinball machines (both new Stern Pinball models and vintage restorations) and classic arcade cabinets (like Pac-Man, Golden Tee, and multicade systems) for home game rooms.

Can I try out the pinball machines and arcade games before buying?

Yes! We encourage you to visit our Milford showroom to play-test our pinball machines and arcade cabinets. There is no better way to judge the flipper response, screen quality, and button feel than playing a few games in person.

Do you repair pinball machines or arcade games?

No, we do not offer repair services for pinball machines and arcade games. However, if you contact us, we can point you in the right direction.

Do you sell professional dart supplies?

Yes, we are a full-service dart store. We stock steel tip and soft tip darts, bristle dartboards, cabinets, flights, and shafts. We carry top brands and can help you select the right weight and grip for your throwing style.

Can I test the weight and grip of darts before purchasing?

Yes, unlike buying online, our store allows you to hold and test different dart barrels, shafts, and flights. Finding the perfect grip and balance is a personal preference, and we have a practice board available for you to throw a few darts to find your match.

What is the difference between slate and wood bed pool tables?

Slate tables are the industry standard for durability and a perfectly flat playing surface; they do not warp over time. Wood bed (or "slatron") tables are cheaper and lighter but will warp eventually and cannot be leveled as precisely. We highly recommend slate for any serious home game room.

Why is it better to buy a pool table in-store rather than online?

Seeing a table in person allows you to inspect the build quality, joinery, and finish that photos often hide. You can see the difference between genuine slate and wood beds, lean on the rails to test stability, and see the actual size of the furniture to ensure it fits your vision.

Do you have samples of pool table felt colors and wood finishes in the store?

Yes, we have a complete design center in our showroom with physical wood samples and cloth swatches. Online colors can be deceiving, so we recommend bringing paint chips, flooring samples, or fabric swatches from your home to match them perfectly with our displays.

I am building a game room. Can I bring my floor plan to the store for advice?

Absolutely. Our staff are game room layout experts. Bring your blueprints, sketches, or room dimensions to the store, and we can help you map out the best placement for tables, lighting, and furniture to ensure comfortable playability and flow.

Do you buy used pool tables from customers?

We occasionally purchase high-quality used tables, depending on the brand, condition, and our current inventory needs. If you are looking to sell, please contact us with photos and details (brand, size, age) for an assessment.

Do you sell shuffleboard tables?

Yes, we sell varying sizes of shuffleboard tables for home use, typically ranging from 9 feet to 22 feet. We also carry shuffleboard wax, silicone spray, and weights (pucks). Also, check out Skeech!

Do you sell air hockey and bubble hockey tables?

Do you sell foosball tables?

Yes, we stock high-quality foosball tables. We recommend tables with counterbalanced men, solid rods, and heavy cabinets to ensure the table stays level and doesn't slide around during intense matches.

Do you sell table tennis (ping pong) tables?

Can I see the outdoor pool tables and games in person?

Do you sell game room furniture and bar stools?

Yes, we offer a variety of furniture to complete your entertainment space, including Bars, Bar Stools, and Spectator Chairs. We also carry specialized Card Tables, Bridge Tables, and general Game Room Furniture designed to match your game tables.
