Our store is family run, opened by my parents in 1978. Now that's a milestone these days!

As a small business owner in Connecticut, I write this to make you think twice before you shop online versus purchasing from a local store.

You may think a small purchase doesn't really matter to a local merchant but it really does make a difference. Imagine everyone thought: “It's just an inexpensive item, so small it doesn't matter, I'll just order it online." If we then multiplied that small purchase many times over, you can see how it adds up and really will affect the local store/business. I’m a little sad every time I see those "other" delivery trucks out on the road.

All sales count, big, medium, and small. We need customers to choose stores, and choose to visit the local merchants that help make your towns, cities, and states run. How many empty store fronts do you drive by with memories of “wow...that used to be a great shop which is now closed!”?

Local businesses not only employ local residents but also help our communities, schools, and local economy. Can you imagine your neighborhood without any stores?

Remember, shopping is way cheaper than therapy! And what better way to spend an afternoon than out with friends at your favorite local shop!?
